Artist CV/Resume

I have an active professional work life that I generally keep separate from my artistic endeavours, except where they intersect. I am providing my artistic experiences here and will expand as needed.

Summary

I use mixed media, primarily digital and visual art through film and digital media to explore modern discontent, pessimism and melancholy that has taken a deep hold in modern life. I investigate and explore the fundamental contradictions of life in the West. My art is rooted in the contradictions of living in an open society that is closed to more people than is seen.

My artwork is often built on a foundation of building community, and as such community engagement is often a foundation of installations or exhibits I develop. The tone for the work I take on is at times sarcastic, dry, caustic, melancholic and bitter, seen through the lens of weary travellers eager to seek rest.

At the root of this work is a desire to seek “Sukoon”,an Urdu word which refers to a deep sense of spiritual relief.
